daughter, Elizabeth Anne, for
baptism at the morning worship
service at the Carthage Presbyte
rian Church on Sunday.
The pastor, the Rev. B. E. Dot-
son, was assisted by the little
girl’s maternal grandfather, Har
ris . Clark, an elder in the Aber
deen church.

Rites Held for
Colon S. Sides
Colon S. Sides, 50, of Aberdeen,
died Thursday of last week. Fun
eral services were held Friday
afternoon at Powell Funeral
Chapel in Southern Pines con
ducted by the Rev. John Brown
of Pine Hill Baptist Church, as
sisted by the Rev. Harvey White
of Pinebluff. Burial was in the
Ashley Heights Cemetery.
Mr. Sides was a farmer and
poultry grower. Surviving are his
wife, Mrs. Opal Lucas Sides; two
sons, Rayvon of Aberdeen, Route
1, and Larry of the home; two
grandchildren; one sister, Mrs.
Clyde Ragsdale of Badin; and two
brothers. Jack of Raeford, Route
3, and Paul of Aberdeen, Route 1.
