STUDENTS OF MOORE COUNTY TEACHERS Young Musicians Of Area Perform A large and interested gather ing of members of the Sandhills Music Association and parents and friends of the performers was at the Pinehurst Country Club Saturday night for the As sociation’s 14th annual Young Musicians Concert which is spon- sot-.sd by the association, with the public admitted free of charge. Heard in piano or voice selec tions were nine students of eight Moore County music teachers. They were introduced by John A. McPhaul of Southern Pines, master of cermonies. Mrs. Char les A. Phillips of Southern Pines was program chairman. Miss Flora McDonald, Home Economics Extension agent, will be guest speaker for the occasion. Leaders attending three or more of the training sessions will be given special recognition. Lanny Maness, chairman of the sponsoring committee, will pre side. Invocation will be by the Rev. Samuel Davis, Pledge of Al legiance to the American Flag will be led by Miss Helene W^^att, Jr. 4-H Club leader, Bellview Sr. 4-H Club. Mrs. Ocie Lee Barrett, Adult 4-H leader. Mills and wife, Virginia Butner Mills, and which was as of that date cancelled; that the transfer from E. H. Mills and wife, Virginia Butner Mills, bears the date of July 24, 1947, and is recorded in Book No. 1, at page 47, Torrens Land Title System. 3. That the lands described in said certificate of title issued to Sheldon B. Smith and wife, Ju liette H. Smith, is as follows; Situated on the east side of James Creek, bounded as fol lows, viz.:BEGINNING at a concrete block. Goldsmith’s corner on the north edge of Southern Pines and Raeford hard road, thence, with Gold smith’s line North 27 Va East 166 feet to a concrete block, his corner; thence, with Gold smith’s line North 6214 East 2330 feet to his corner, a con crete block on the west side of a branch; thence, with Paul Clark’s line South 26% West 5462 feet to an iron stake, Bion H. Butler’s corner; thence, with Brion H. Butler’s line North 1114 West 3172 feet to an iron pipe, a corner of a tract of land deed ed by J. A. McKeithen to Mrs. Millie A. Whitbeck; thence. North 80 East 194 ft. to a large pine, Mrs. Whitbeck’s comer; with her line North 35 East 709 feet to an iron stake on the south edge of said Southern Pines and Raeford hard road; thence, with and crossing said road South 77 Vz East 312 feet to the BEGINNING, containing 126.9 acres. Excepting from said above bounden tract 52.4 acres, more or less, east of the Camp Bragg (Hoke County) line, and this certificate being for 74.5 acres, more or less in Moore County, North Ceu^olina. 4. That the estate described and conveyed was: Fee simple. 5. That since the date of the issuance of said certificate regis tered in Book 1, page 49, as cer tificate No. 1-H, Juliette H. Smith has died, leaving her husband, Sheldon B. Smith, as the sole owner of said lands hereinbefore described and set forth in the certificate. 6. That no mortgages, judg ments, liens, lis pendens or other encumbrances have been regis tered against said lands or cer tificate of title. 7. That the original certificate of title No. 1-H, registered in Book No. 1, at page 49, heretofore issued to Sheldon B. Smith and wife Juliette H. Smith, has been lost or destroyed and cannot after due diligence be found. WHEREFORE, you are further notified that all persons, firms or corporations claiming an interest in the lands described in ths Pe tition or any lien thereon, are required to appear at the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court for Moore County, North Caro lina, in Carthage, and to file an answer to said Petition filed in this proceeding, on or before the 25th day of June, 1963, or the Court will issue a decree direct ing the Register of Deeds of Moore County, North Carolina, to issue a new certificate of title to Sheldon B. Smith, widower, for the lands hereinbefore described, said new certificate to take the place of the original certificate of title hereinbefore set out, and that the new certificate of title be registered according and pur suant to the General Statutes of North Carolina, Chapter 43, and thereafter you will be forever barred from claiming any right, titles or interest in said lands hereinbefore described.
