Chief Deputy H. H. Grimm, in vestigating, said entry was made through the front door after the the glass had been knocked out of it, then the thief or thieves went out through the back. The Pinehurst Warehouses Inc., was also broken into over the weekend, through a side door on the railroad strack side, and about $50 worth of miscellaneous items taken: an alarm clock, one ladies’ and one men’s wrist watch, several lighters, etc. The coke machine was also broken open. Several other recent break-ins were reported solved with the arrest of two Harnett County youths by the Lee County sher iff’s department. Boyd Kay Price and Bobby Sharpe, both about 21, of Sanford Route 6, admitted a number of break-ins and rob beries in Moore, Lee and Harnett counties. Grimm, interviewing the youths at Sanford, tied them in definitely by means of finger prints with several in Moore, and they admitted their guilt in these cases, he said. A third youth, Thomas Kelly, also of Sanford Route 6, was ar rested and may be implicated, ac cording to Deputy Grimm, who said Kelly is being interrogated. Warrants have been issued for Price and Sharpe charging them with breaking and entering, lar ceny and receiving, in the rob beries of the new (iolf World of fices in Southern Pines, and Smithson Fabrics on US 1 north of Southern Pines, and Smith- son Fabrics on US 1 north of Southern Pines; the Pinebluff Products Co. at Pinebluff, the Sandhills Dental Clinic at Aber deen and Marsh’s Store on Carth age Route 2. A good deal of the loot was re covered, said Grimm, who report ed he found the cash box and fancy electric clock taken from the Sandhills Dental Clinic at Price’s home. The young men face trial in Moore county after trial for their offenses in Lee. Price was apprehended during an attempted break-in of a drug store at Broadway, and Kelly, his accomplice, who at that time gave the officer the slip, was picked up later. Sharpe came vol untarily into the Lee County sheriff’s office a couple of days after that. The three youths reportedly have clean records up till now. Price, who is physically handi capped as the result of an auto mobile accident, has been mar ried about one year. Deputy Sheriff J. A. Lawrence and others at the Styers service station noticed the car as it went past on South Street at 11:25 p. m., without lights. They recog nized the 1959 Chevrolet as one which, a few minutes earlier, had been seen in front of the motor company a block away. Deputy Lawrence jumped in with J. B. Edwards, who drove his car in pursuit. A quick phone call brought another interested person, Lee Buchan, of Martin Motor Co., which owned the stol en vehicle. They had no difficulty follow ing the Chevrolet, and at Raeford secured the help of a city police officer in getting it stopped, and the driver arrested. He turned out to be John Lee Holley who told officers he had left the Mor rison Training School, the State institution for Negro boys at Hoffman “about suppertime.” At Aberdeen, wanting a car, he tried first to break into Wicks Chevro let, he said, but was unsuccessful. Walking on downtown, he spot ted the Chevrolet and found he could get it started. Holley was placed in Moore County jail at Carthage, where he is awaiting preliminary hear ing in Moore Recorder’s Court on Monday.
