That ex pense averaged $136 in 1962. These amounts include principal and interest payments on his loan, taxes, insurance, fuel, main tenance, utility, repair and main tenance costs. Dur ing the Sunday school hour, spe cial recognition was given the children by Superintendent Bob by L. Lassiter followed by the presentation of promotion cer tificates and attendance pins. Presentations were made in the order of classes and teachers as follows: Nursery Department: Mrs. H. M. Klingenschmidt, Mrs. J. E. Hudson,, assistant; Eddie Hipp; Jeff Lassiter, James Hudson, Sandra Klingenschmidt; Promo ted was Lynette Foster. Kindergarten: Mrs. Cameron, Mrs. Roy Gwendolyn Frye, Thomas, Joe Lassiter, Hudson, Bruce Lassiter. Receiving promotion cates were: Benny Futrell, Bru no Duffey, Sherry Hudson, Bev erly Kimball, Junior Thomas, Jane Cameron, Joe Lassiter, Sherry Brewer and Bruce Lassi ter. Boggs Reunion Members of the Boggs Family from Georgia, and Tennessee were in the community the past weekend, gathering at the home of Mrs. Daniel Boggs and family for a reunion and picnic dinner Boggs on his 76th birthday. Hospitalized Relatives here learned last week that a former resident, Mrs. Marion Scarboro Murphy of Greensboro, was taken ■ to Duke Hospital last Tuesday in serious condition. At present, she is not permitted visitors. Her address is: Osier Ward, Duke Hospital, Durham. Birth Announcement An announcement of the birth of a baby daughter, bom last Mondayl August 24, at a Texas hospital to Mrs. Robert Hardy, was received by the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lula Hardy Hennings of Carthage. Frye, and visiting relatives in Sanford were Mr. and Mrs. Way- Ion hTomas and son Mike of Orangeburg, S. C. Returning last week after two weeks here with Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Griffin and other relatives and friends in Raleigh and Gar ner were her daughter, Mrs. H. B. Kelly and son, Jerry, who made the round trip from Tulsa, Okla. by plane. Mrs. Tom Gulledge and chil dren, Judy, Tommy and Sharon, recently visited Mrs. Gulledge’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Coop er of Roaoke, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Cooper returned home with them for a visit. They have one other son, Mike. Mrs. N. N. McLean entered Duke Hospital Sunday for treat ment. Mr. and Mrs. Lane Bullock and family spent the weekend in Fuquay with Mr. Bullock’s broth er-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Painter. hWile there, they visited an uncle, Craig Bullock of Willow Springs, who is a pa tient at Wake Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Charles Gschwind and I and Mrs. A. R. Graham spent two I days last week with the Rev. and Mrs. David Moe and children, Beverly and Bill, of Swansboro.
