Enq PENNSYLVANIA. Harrisburgh, Pa. March 5 Yesterday the Democratic Con vention met in the Court-house in this borough, at 11 o'clock Washington, March, 20. Caucusses. We hardly know whether to be sorrow or glad, that the subject of Caucusses in general, and of that m particu-i ar which was lately held in this city, has become the subject of discussion in the Senate of the United Stales, from its having l been incidentally introduced in to the Debate on the motion to postpone the several proposi tions for amending the Consti tution of the United States. If it is to be regretted, oii the one hand, that a subject so full of excitement should incidentally become the subject of debate in that grave and dignified body, on the other, the friends is well as the opponents of the measure may rejoice at the opportunity for a free discussion of the me rits of the matter by the Repre sentatives ot the State Sove reignties. If it has any thing to fear from the freest investiga tion, it deserves to be held up to public censure. If, as we believe, it pass the ordeal un hurt, and brightened by the test it has endured, it mil attract still more of the popular favor. On the wholei it the dignity of the Senate do; not suffer from entertaining the subject, we are very glad that l has got into such good hands, ib. Spanish packet knife, and died m a few minutes.
