PAGE SIX HOLD FUNERAL HAMILTON BOY Large Gathering Attends Final Rites of Carl J. Salsbury Hamilton, Feb. 18.—The funeral of Carl J. Salsbury, son of Mr. and Mia. Paul L Salsbury, was held yesterday j at two o'clock in the Hamilton Bap tiat €huixtl Gt W'hTcfc he was a" loyal and consecrated member until death since the age of thirteen when he gave his heart and life to the Lord. The service was conducted by the pas tor, E. P. West who was ably assist ed by' Rev. J. P. Gulley, of Croiet, Va. and Rev. J. K. Henderson, of Pembroke, N. C., two much beloved former of the 19-year old youth. The sad occasion brought together an honoring host of friends and loved ones. In addition to the immediate community, its environs and many from distant parts were there to pay tribute to the high esteem in which he was held seven of the boys from Wake Forest' College in which insti tution Carl was a student' at the time of his'going. The promising young man was popular among his fellow students, a member of the Euselian Literary Society and had gained entrance into the Kappa Phi Kappa scholarship fraternity, to represent the literary society, educa tional fraternity and "student body respectfully there were present C. L. Cope, Murphy, N. C., H. C. Hopkins, Elizabethton, Tenn., and J. M.Jlor ton. The other four students prilS'Jrt were Earl Bennett, Carl's roommate, T. G. Bntt, Bernard Allsbrooks and . I). V. Holliday. Following the service at the church a deeply moved- concourse of friends accompanied the remains to Scotland N'eck where the body was interred in the Baptist cemetery. At the grava Dr. W. R. Cullom, of Wake Forest, delivered a brief and comforting mes sage to a multitude of wounded hearts. There were also preseny fruui Wake Forest Dr. T. I>. Kitchen and tt » Prof. K. T. Raynor. With the young men from Wake Forest, Clayton Davenport, 'Gurthie Ayers, Ray Bunting, Frank Haislip, jr. and Herbert Everett, all of llamil ton ,acted as pall bearers. The wonderful floral offering was altogether in harmony with the charm ing character and beautiful life of the one whose memory was being honored.—E. I'. West, I'astor.
