We are requested to announce that on Thursday night next, May 15th, there will be an ice cream supper given at the Town Hall by the Daugbteis of the King. Every body cordially invited to be present. Rev. J, IK. Latham, of Norfolk, a native Plymouthonian, parsed through town on Wednesday enioute for Washington to visit his sister, Mrs. R. A. Knight. He was accompanied by his wife and children. Mr. Whitt Harrison, of Battleboro, who is employed by Mr. F. M. Davenport who recency sold out here and moved ta that place, was here this week. He informs us that Mr. Davenport has a beautiful planta tion there and that it is in excellent con dition. Tomorrow, Saturday, May 10th, the Washington fc Plymouth railroad will give all ex Confederate soldiers free transporta tion from here to Washington, where there will be a grand re-union of the old Vets. All ex-Con federates in this section are iu vited to go. There will be a Confederate Reunion at Washington ou Memorial Day (May 10th) aud a big free dinner. The Washington & Plymouth train will leave Plymouth on that dav at C:30 a. m. aud returning will leave Washington at 6:00 p. m. All ex Confederates will be carried free, others wishing to attend will be charged one fare for round trip. On Satarday evening last while in Roper we visited the carriage and undertaker shops of Mr. S, J. Barco, and were agree. ably surprised to see him so nicely fitted up and so busy. Mr. Barco has several men employed and is taming out some as nice work us is eyr seen in this county. If you should need anything in his line give him your order. You will never re gret it. A railroad, from Fairfield to Plymouth, via Cresweli, would be a gold mine. Mr Fletcher Ausbon, who has net long since made a geological Burvey of the country, tolls ns that the two poiuts could be con nected by about 30 miles of track. If our people would oombiuo their efforts with the people of Fairfield and Cresweli we think the A. C. L. could be induoed to build this road. Littleton is the seat of the deservedly popular and flourishirig Littleton Female College. Prudent Rhodes, assisted by his wife, the right woman iu the right place, and a very able corps cf teachers, is bring ing the college into the ry front line of our Southern institutions of learning.
