Bryson Of Glenville
Has Purebred Herefords
A herd of purebred Hereford
cattle is being started by Frank
and Clayborn Bryson of Glenville.
They not only have some good
livestock to begin with but they
have some feed crops in the making.
Ladino clover and orchard
grass will be seeded and fertilized
in accordance with recommendations
of the State Soil Laboratory.
*You cannot have good cattle without
good feed.
Turpin Plans
Summer Pasture
John Turpin, a new dairyman of
the Qualla section, is planning ahead
to have plenty of feed during
the hot months of July and August.
His plan calls for seeding about
I two acres of sweet sudan grass
around the first of June. This crop
thrives in hot weather and dairy
cows like it. It is a crop that
milk producers can use to relieve
permanent pastures and keep the
B cows in top production.
