There is no more hazardous period than the one before birth and there is no pe riod in a childs life in which he grows Bo much in so short a period. Therefore, the nutritional needs of both mother and child are great dur ing this time. We wish to speak to day of the diet of the mother in this eriod. Unless a mother is eating foods suitable for her own and the baby's growth needs, the baby will draw up on her body particularly her bones and teeth. Even then the baby may be somewhat dwarfed in development. For this reason evejy mother needs a well balanced met of leaiy vege tables Including green and yellow, three to four eggs a weak, some meat, fruit, and as much milk as she can afford, up to a quart a day. ' Cheese may help supply some of the bone needs. It is a good pltan for every mother to see her doctor early and follow his instruction in case of special diet. Next week we will talk of the im portance of early medical care. t f t 4' f ' k J 915,000 Motor Vehicle Licenses Issued Approximately 915,000 motor vex hide licenses have been issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles since December 1, the Department reports.
