New Fall Season Begins September 8 What You'll See on Kids' TV Daffy Duck will be back. Saturday Morning ? Ask NBC News offers one-minute spots about current events while Time Out will feature short spots about sports. ? Casper and the Space Angels stars the friendly ghost and two policewomen. ? Fred and Barney Meet The Thing is really two different cartoons. "The Thing" is about a teen age boy who can turn himself into a strong "Thing" at any time. ? The Super Globetrotters features the famous basketball team. ? The New Schmoo will be about lovable comic strip characters that were popular years ago. ? Godzilla presents the famous monster. ? The New Adventures of Flash Gordon is based on the science fiction favorite. ? Johnny Quest and The Jetsons will be back for 8 weeks. On October 20 they will be replaced by a new hour-long entertainment and information series for kids and teen-agers. ? The Daffy Duck show will return. Afternoons ? The dramatic series Special Treat continues with four new specials. Kids Are People Too will continue on Sunday mornings. Saturday ? Health and emergency spots will teach first aid. ? Nutrition spots will teach good eating habits. ? The Plasticman Comedy/ Adventure Show is a two hour block of cartoons starring several new characters. The superhero Plasticman will be the host of the program. ? Returning for the 1 1th season is Scooby Doo. ? The World's Greatest Superfriends (Superman, Batman and friends) will be back. ? So will ABC Weekend Specials, adapting children's novels and short stories for TV. ? Dick Clark's American Bandstand is returning. Sunday ? Kids are People Too will be back. So will Animals Animals Animals. ? The five-minute musical advice column, Dear Alex and Annie, will be shown on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Afternoons The twice-monthly Afternoon Special will be returning with seven new shows. Eat Albert is returning. Saturday Morning ? The one new show will be the New Adventures of Mighty Mouse and Heckle and Jeckle. ? Returning are: The Popeye Hour, The New Fat Albert Show, The Bugs Bunny /Road Runner Show, Tarzan and the Super Seven, and Jason of the Star Command. ? The CBS news feature show, 30 Minutes, will return for the second season. ? In the News spots will be back. Sunday Morning ? The Skatebirds will return. Afternoons ? RAZZMATAZZ, the CBS news magazine about young people, will be back. ? The CBS Festival of the Lively Arts for Young People specials will be returning. ? The CBS Afternoon Playhouse will present four new dramas. ? The CBS Library will have three one-hour programs about new DOOKS. ? The Kids on the Block is a program for the handicapped that will be shown tnree times. ? Kenner Family Classics will be based on children's classic books. There will be five shows.
