Jesus said to love B an'' pray for them ^B per.-on who is indwelt by his own beast and took him to the nearest inn where he could receive care. Going- still further, the Samaritan gave the inn keep er money, telling him if more was needed, he would give it when he came that way again. Who in this case proved to be a neighbor to this man in need? "He that shewed mercy on him," answered the lawyer. Jesus answered, "Go and do thou like wise." I have always wondered if the lawyer took Christ's lesson to heart or if he disliked Jesus mak ing a Samaritan the hero of His story. It might be asked of pupils of all ages if they have ever seen an injured person and how did they act if they did. Did they stand and stare ? did they run 1 away fast for fear they would be come ill or become involved ? Or ? did they, if young, run for help, . cr, if older and possessing of ' some knowledge of first aid, do MEMORY VERSE 'Ad th-at turn should do unto you, do yc also to t'ArrtcisV ?Luke ? 31. What would Jesus have done?* He would have healed the wound, but as we could not do that, if we acted in His spirit we would do what we could to help, even if the injured one was someone we might have hated. James reminds us that God our Father is no respecter of persons. A rich man dressed well and a poor man poorly clothed might ccme into the synagogue or into any public place, and the rich man might be given a good seat in the synagogue and the poor man be left to stand. Why do people favor the well-to-do and often give shabby treatment to the poor? "Hearken, my beloved brethren. Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in fai^h. and heirs of the kingdom which He hath promised to them that love Him? "If ye fulfill the royal law ac cording to the scripture. Thou | shalt love thy neighbor as thy I self, ye do well." fr/T produced by th* Division of ChrlMiin Education. To almost everyone, the sight of a slender steeple H . raised to the sky evokes certain emotions?awe: WK^\i perhaps, nostalgia, maybe?the sense that by not going to church lately, you've been missing some M thing! Next time you see a church, take a good look . . . and let yourself really feel what you see. If that makes you decide not only to look at the outside ;jtP? but also to go inside, that will be all to the good. ^or n0 matter how lovely a home you may live in, it can't cofnpare with God's House. If you open the \ door, you'll find that, no matter how long you've I been away, the welcome is warmer and more won mKk derful than you'll find anywhere else. I THE CHURCH FOR ALL . . . ALL FOR THE CHURCH The Church is the greatest factor on earth for the building of character and good citizenship. It is a storehouse of spiritual values Without a strong Church, neither democracy nor civilization can survive There are four sound reasons why every person should attend services regularly and support the Church They are (I) For his own sake (2) For his children's sake, (3) For the sake of his community and nation (4) For the sake of the Church itself, which needs hi- m >:nl and material support Plan to go to c.'i irch regu larly and read your Bible daily. ?Day Book Chapter Veraej Sunday...... .
