Letter To The Editor. Dear Marlene Preparations are already being made for the annual Halloween Carnival for the patients at Dorothea Dix Hospital. This carnival is sponsored by the Rehabilitation Department of the hospital and Volunteer Services. Many patients come to this carnival and participate in games and contests during which many small prizes are won. Of tentimes, this is the only ac tivity a patient may participate in or enjoy throughout the whole year. Some of the people are not easily motivated and are hard to reach, but through the Halloween Carnival, our Staff can begin to work with each patient just a little more. • • j The American Legion... : f extends an invitation to all veterans to join * • COOLEEMEE AMERICAN LEGION POST 54. • • Membership drive for 1971 is now in progress. t • At the end of the drive on November 14 a £ J steak supper will be served at the school 9 • cafeteria. • • • • Contact any Mem S. or call 28 • This advertisement Is sponsored by 2 J BECK B * •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• .fffl:M|Blf w^"" . 1». j| |mK *JLM£K ijjjj^i ,--l^Hisllxkl' Ky hJi ! t . ' * Last year I called on the people of Cooleemee to donate small prizes such as hard candy, suckers, balloons, pencils, ball point pins, bobby pins, plastic scarfs, costume jewelery and many, many other inexpensive items. The response was tremendous and I was very proud and excited as I collected and returned these articles to the hospital for use in the Carnival. Again we are in great need of anything you can give to these wonderful patients, who can show you in one glance of the eye that they appreciate it. The Carnival will be held Wednesday, October 28 and Thursday, October 29. If you could get the word to the people in Cooleemee. I will be happy to oome after these items on Monday, October 26, at the Journal office. Again if anyone would like to visit the hospital for either of these dates and help with the Carnival, please let me know and 111 be glad to meet them and see that they get to the right place. I can guarantee you it will be an unforgetable experience. Hunks again for helping us help others. Doyle Spry Executive Housekeeper REDUCE excess fluids with FLUIDEX, $ 1.69.
