The regular meeting of the Eight Weeks Club will be held In the Cham ber of Commerce offices tonigt at 8 o'clock. All members who are inter ested in spending the week-end at Camp Latta are urged to be present. A number of the members of the club will go to Camp Latta tomorrow. i 5051 j STORY HOUR ON CHURCH LAWN. Thursday afternoon on the lawn of the First Presbyterian church 50 of the little children, together with sev eral interested ladies, gathered to play games and to listen to the mag ic words of the story-teller. They were fortunate In having with them Miss Helen QUI Lovett. of Philadel phia, Pa., a sister of Mrs. George B. Cocker of this city. Miss Lovett proved to be a charming story-teller, and was eagerly listened to by tne children. The hour was not completely spent in the story world, however, for a number of the children's favorite games, led by Miss Rebecca McLean and Miss Sue Ramsey Johnston, were entered into. Miss Isabel Caldwell conducted the stories, among which were "Buddy and Waffles," "The Wonderful Tar-Baby," "The Land of Golden Sunlight," and "The Black smith's Chain." The story hour each "week is becoming very popular with the little people and the Interest shown by Miss Lottie, Blase Is ap preciated by the mothers. New Cotton Firm. A new firm for Gastonia is W.
