Livestock At The Duplin Fair Down at the livestock tent, numerous animals were ex hibited. David Herring from Newton Grove did an ex cellent job judging the heifer and swine show. His job was difficult as the quality of animals was excellent. Cece Williams won first in the heifer show while Karen Kornegay placed second, David G. Byrd third and Anthony Batts, fourth. Cece Williams won the trophy for showmanship. At the swine show, Hugh Parker placed first, Ronald Brock second and Williams Hudson third. Russell Brock won the trophy for show manship. Premiums were $75 for first, $50 for second and $25 for third. Also showing swine were Wendy Davenport, Randall Hill and Elmore Jerome. Producers exhibiting Heifers were Cecil Kornegay of Scotts Store, Joe Williams and David Byrd Sr. of the Rose Hill area. Exhibitors of swine were George Mainor or Rose Hill. Garland Brock of Hallsville, and Dwight Hill of Scotts Store. From Bowdens, Arlene and Brian Cassedy exhibited a burro and Bennie Carr exhibited a mule. The chick ens, ducks, geese and rabbit were exhibited by Alton Johnson of Kenansville. The goats were exhibited by Donald Lanier of Kenans ville.
