Mom# Demonstration NfWl Home Freezing is Saving; Seven Belong to New Club B y MAKTHA BARNKTT Hhh Demonstration Agent Now is the time to plan to eat frozen foods when your frecta ones are gone. In order to have good ones, pay attention to variety. Some are better for freezing than others. Don't waste your time with poor ones. Plant to freese. Gather the food at the right time. This is when it is not too young, nor too old, but just right for eating fresh. Work fast Get it in the freeszer as soon as pos sible, but take time to scald and chill. Scalding, or blanching, should be done for quality's sake. Follow the time table in Extension Circular No. 280. Chill in icy or cold water. That doesn't mean soak, but get the heat that you have just put in completely out. Put the food in a good frozen food container. That leaves milk cartons to use for fresh milk, and the oyster cup for fresh oysters ? not frozen food. Place the container where and Nina Foch (Continued from Page 2, S^'ion 2) tives. My father. Dirk Foch, was composer of the London Civic Sym phony and also of symphonic or chestras in Amsterdam and Vienna. Now he lives in New York and all of us are happy." From this, one got the feeling that Miss Foch is completely Euro pean. She isn't. Her mother is Conseulo Flowerton. a lively bru nette with a beautiful voice, who sang in some of the major Broad way musical hits in the 1930's. And Miss Flowerton is, as she once told me, "from the deep South ? Mobile to New Orleans to Mem phis." Asked more closely about her in ternational relatives, Miss Foch said that one of her grandfathers was a governor of the Dutch East Indies and that her father had composed for the "Amsterdam Con cergebouw Symphony" and that he is "a brilliant man." That is conceded because he has a brilliant daughter in Miss Foch. Dwelling on the ancestral theme, Miss Foch said that she had a maid en aunt two or three generations back. The aunt thought women should wear pants, slacks and such other apparel as would give the feminine sex plenty of freedom. Miss Foch doubts her aunt would approve of present-day Bi kini bathing suits which have vir tually emancipated women from clothes. f how the manufacture r's freezer book aaya.
