Wilmington, has submitted a second set of tentative sketches and drawings to the building plans com mittee. Study Says Average Man In Good Financial Shape Ann Arbor, Mich. (AP) ? Ameri ca's average male breadwinner is in fairly healthy financial shape. A study by the University of Mich igan's Survey Research Center found that although consumer debts have risen, the situation is not serious. The study showed the average consumer family has time pay ments totaling some 20 per cent of its income. But more than a third expect to complete their payments within nine months, and about all the families could pay off their debts with savings and other liquid assets. The average family increased its liquid assets from $300 in early 1953 to $350 in early 1954, the highest level since 1948. Delayed Mail Aqua Caliente (Sonoma County), Calif. (AP)? The post office here was closed in 1952, but an old iron mail box was left outside. A pass ing post office official recently found the box stuffed with musty mall which he forwarded. Homecoming Sunday Camp Glenn Methodist Church will observe Homecoming Day Sun day at the church on Highway 70 west of Morehead City. Miss Craven received her bache lors degree at High Point College, graduating in the upper tenth of her class. She has been a College Caravaner and a teacher in Ala bama. Last year she was sent to the WSCS Division School. Holding Institute, at Laredo, Texas. This past summer she has been working toward her master's de gree at Scarritt College for Chris tian Workers, Nashville, Tenn. Willing Workers Club Sponsors Church Contest The Willing Worker? Club o f the Christian Star Church is sponsoring a contest to choose "Mrs. Christian Star." The contestants are Mrs. Thelma Stamps. Mrs. Mary John son, Mrs. Thelma Bell and Mrs. Ethel Allen. "Mrs. Christian Star" will be crowned at & program Dec. 5. The club will meet Monday night. Oct. 25, at the home of Mrs. Lottie May Miller, fridges Street, to make further plans for the contest event. Teen- Age Hen Thieves Use Ruse to Fool Sheriff Lexington, S. C. (AP) ? Foot prints of two pairs of outsized men's shoes were the only clues officers here had to chicken thieves who made off with between 70 and 75 chickens in several for ays over a period of weeks. Sheriff H. M. Caughman finally called in bloodhounds, tracked the thieves ? two teen-aged girls caught with the goods, who had used the men's shoes for a false trail.
