turn home today from Blue Ridge,
where she attended the state NCEA

where he will undergo surgery.

turned home after spending two
weeks at Swansboro with relatives.

Episcopal Chapter Makes
Plans for July Food Fair
St. Catherine's Chapter of St. An
drew's Auxiliary, in cooperation
with St. Mary's Chapter, will spon
sor a food fair at the parish house
July 18. All kinds of food, needle
work, and leather goods will be on
sale all day. starting at 10 a.m.

man, presided at the meeting held
Tuesday evening at the parish
house. Final plans were made lor

gave a report on the Thrift Shop.

fee hour Sunday, following the
morning service.

Miss Elsie Jean Turner of Day
tona Beach. Fla., and Mr. Hugh
Free, also of Deytona Beach, were
married at the Baptist Church
there Tuesday, June 10.
Miss Turner la the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John E. Turner.
They lived in Morehead City for
a year and Mr. and Mrs. Turner
helped to organize the Baptist Mis
sion at Harkers Island. She is the
niece of Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Crow*.
The wedding was at 9:30 a.m.
and a wedding breakfast was held
immediately following. Upon their
return from a wedding trip the
couple will main their home in
Oklahoma, whara Mr. Free is sta
tioned with the Army.

Miss Joan Seamon and Kenneth
Neil Putnam Jr. were united in
marriage Sunday afternoon at four
o'clock at First Baptist Church.
Dr. John H. Bunn, pastor, per
formed the double ring ceremony.
The church was decorated with
three baskets of white gladiolas
and greenery.
Mrs. George Mizesko, organist,
and William J. Laughton Jr., solo
ist, presented a program of wed
ding music prior to the ceremony.
Wedding selections were All for
You, Through the Years and The
Lord's Prayer.
The bride was given in marriage
by her father, Mr. Jesse L. (Tony)
Seamon. She wore a floor length
formal gown of handclipprd chan
tilly lace and nylon tulle. The
moulded bodice was designed with
a scalloped sabrina neckline and
long sleeves tapering to points
over the hands.
TV" voluminous skirt was fash
ioned with a cascade of ruffles in
the front, alternating in Uca and
crystal pleated tulle. The skirt fea
tured in overlay of lace that ex
tended into a chapel length train.
Her veil of french illusion was
attached to ? Swedish coronet of
simulated pearls and iridescent se
quins on matching lace. She car
ried a prayer book topped with
white orchids and gardenias.
Mrs. John E. Aliyetti, twin sis
ter of the bride, was matron of
honor. She wore a ballerina length
dress of mint green nylon over taf
feta fashioned with a bouffant skirt
and fitted bodice with scoop neck
line accented by a bertha collar.
She wore matching gauntlets and
carried a fan covered with yellow
sweetheart roses. She wore a mint
green lace picture hat with ribbons
tied under the chin.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
J. L. Seamon of this city.
Mr. Putnam is the son of Mrs.
Eldon Nelson of this city and Mr.
K. N. Putnam Sr. of Newport
News, Va. He was graduated from
Morehead City High School and at
tended Atlantic Christian College,
Wilson. He is employed by Na

To Tour Europe
Robert McNeill will leave this
weekend by plane from New York
City for London, England, where
he will spend several days with the
Leonard Burleighs, who lived here
during World War II. He will join
the TTiomas Tours for a tour of
Europe and expects to be gone
about six weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. McGregor
Hosts at Hawaiian Luau
Mr. and Mrs. John McGregor
were hosts to the SS Couple's Club
Saturday evening and entertained
at a Hawaiian luau. On arrival
each guest was presented a lei,
made by the hostess.
The luau was served on a long
low table covered with fox grape
"leaves. Wooden dishes and howls
were filled with iced shrimp with
sauce, crabs, barbecued chicken
halves, baked bananas, yams, and
corn on the cob with melted but
ter Puka punch was served from
a lined wicker basket. Cocoanut
cups for the punch were made by
the host.
After the luau, a basket was
passed which contained iced fresh
pineapple slices, plums, orange
slices, peach halves and pear
slices. During the luau, recordings
of Hawaiian music were played.
A Hawaiian motif was carried
out in the decorations. The picture
window wis hung with net, to
which were fastened various local
shells. Two vases of red and white
gladiolas and driftwood were
placed by the window. Bongo
drums hung from the walls.
Guests at the luau were Mr. and
Mrs. BUI Reese, Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Mays, Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Williams and Mr. and Mra. T. C.
