PEOPLE IN THE NBA Five County Stl Graduate From Five Brunswick County students received degrees from N.C. State University in Raleigh during commencement exercises held May 11. Adrian D. Waddell, whose parents are J. McKenney and W. Waddell of Route 3, Leland, earned a master's degree in guidance and personnel services. Craig H. Cowan, son of Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Cowan of Olde Towne community, received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Other graduates receiving bachelor's degrees are Anita A. Earns Early Promotion Richard V. Davis has been specially identified for early promotion to senior airman in the U.S. Air Force. He was awarded the new rating ahead of other airmen by a "belowIthe-zone" promotion board that considered job performance, military knowledge, bearing and selfimprovement efforts. Davis Is the son of Janice W. Tingen and stepson of Milton C. Tingen of Route 1, Winnabow. Young Inducted Tina Elizabeth Young of Winnabow I wa? recently Inducted Into the Alpha | Chi National Honor Society at limestone College, Gaffncy, S.C. A senior majoring in psychology and fashion merchandising, Miss Young was a marshal at spring commencement. He is a 1984 graduate of UNCWilmington, where he earned a B S in computer science. Blood Drive Is An April 23 American Red Cross blood drive at West Brunswick High School netted 124 units of blood that has been designated for Rebecca Russ of Shai'otte. Rebecca, the five-year-old daughter of W.T. (Rusty) and Polly Russ of Shallotte, is a leukemia patient at N.C. Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill. Her illness was diagnosed last month. WBHS health occupations students and instructor Jeanette Mintz coordinated the bloodmobile visit to the school gym.
