Jacqueline Dawn Todd Meadows Have A Daughter Deborah and Dale Meadows of Ash have announced the birth of a girl, Stacey Elizabeth. She was bom June 1 at 10:M a.m. in New Hanover Memorial Hospital, Wilmington, and weighed eight pounds. She was 20 inches long. Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Joe Long of Ash and the late George Ferris Babson. The paternal grandmother is Mrs. Nellie Cain of Ocean Isle Beach and the late Dudley Meadows. TexJd, AAilliken Exchange Wedding| Vows Jacqueline Dawn Todd of Shallotte Point and Jeffeo' Dean Milliken of Ash were married May 24 in a 3 p.m. ceremony at Village Point United Methodist Church, Shallotte Point. Rev. Maurice l.ancaster officiated the double-ring ceremony. White gladioli, chrysanthemums, ivy, white candles and brass candlelabras decorated the sanc tuary. The bride is the daughter of Lenon and .Mary Lee Todd of Shallotte Point The groom is the son of Ervin J. and Marjorie Milliken of Route 1, Ash. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of lace and sheer organza, fashioned with a close-fitting bodice embellished with seed pearls and sequins. Schiffli em- broidety detailed the high stand-up lace collar and and front voke of net illusion. The full bouffant skirt featured tiers of lace and sheer organza that extended into a heart- shaped chapel train. The white fingertip-length veil c# il lusion was attached to a cap of seed pearls and sequins. She carried a teardrop bouquet of white roses pink miniature carna tions a.nd babies' breath. For traveL the bride chose a dress of white brocade and handmade lace with matching accessories and cor sage. Her maid of honor was her sister, Beverly Kay Todd of Shallotte. She wore a tea-length scalloped lace dress in pale pink over a satin slip with wide satin cummerbund and bow back, with matching pink satin pumps. Other bridal attendants were An nette Todd Carringcr and Delores Long Bay Holds Club Social Officers for 1987-88 were presented rose corsages at the annual club social of the Long Bay Garden Club on May 21. New officers are Sibyl Mcl.amb, president; Betty Harrelson, first vice-president; Jamie Ward, second vice-president; Frances Williams, secretary; and Frances Gravatt, treasurer. Members and guests gathered at the home qf Mr. and Mrs. W.J. McLamb Jr., Raeford Street, Ocean Isle Beach, for a barbecue supper. Also featured was a slide presenta tion on the Green Swamp by Jesse Clemmons. Clemmons noted the wildlife and rare plants found in the swamp. He shared his experiences of having grown up close to the swamp. Members presented him with a crape myrtle tree in recognition of his work with the Nature Conservancy and with Brunswick Technical College. Another tree was presented recent ly to Brunswick Beacon News Editor Susan Usher as a wedding/housc warming gift for her support of the club’s “Planting a Legacy” project to mark the bicentennial of the sign ing of the Constitution of the United States. At present, 150 trees have been planted with more scheduled for planting in the fall. Frances Gravatt, outgoing presi dent, and Betty Harrelson each received a framed print for their sup port of club activities. Following the summer, the club will plan new activities and projects to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Supply Homemakers Meet Annette Murphy, of the Cape Fear Substance Abuse Center, was the guest speaker at the area meeting at tended by the Supply Extension Homemakers Club June 4. The club also held its monthly meeting at Brunswick Electric Membership Corp. in Shallotte the same day. Ms. Murphy spoke on “Drugs In Today’s World.” Drugs will also be the topic of a meeting June 18,7 p.m., at the extension office at the county government complex in Bolivia. A leader training workshop will also be held June 25, at 10 a.m., and a county council meeting is scheduled for July 20, 2 p.m., at the extension office. Ten members and two guests, Mrs. Eleanore Grafe and Mrs. Anna Saywas, attended the monthly meeting, called to order by President Rosemary Whaley. Clara Schuster, international chairperson, attended the May 7 meeting and presented information on Morocco. The club donated $100 to the Brunswick County 4-H program to help finance its summer camping program. The next meeting will be held at Clara Schuster’s home; July 21, at 10:30 a.m. Members are asked to br ing a bag lunch. Yvonne Todd, sisters of the bride, both of Shallotte. Candice Smith of Shallotte, a cousin of the bride, was flower girl. They wore tea-length dresses idential to that worn by the inaid of honor. Amber Grissett of Shallotte, the bride's niece, attended the register. The groom’s best man was his father. Ushers were were Steve Milliken of Ash, brother of the groom, and Phil Dyson of Conway, S.C., friend of the couple. Michael Milliken of Ash, brother of the groom, was ringbearer. The groom and his men wore pale gray tuxedos with matching cum merbunds, bowties and shoes. Music was provided by Terry and Julie Willetts and Tamala Grissett, pianist, all of Sliallotte, and included “Up Where We Belong.” “To Me,” and "The Wedding Prayer.” Following a honeymoon in Charleston, S.C., the newlyweds are living in Shallotte. The bride, a 1984 graduate of West Brunswick High School, is employed with A.T. Carringer's Dress Shop in Shallotte. The groom, also a 1984 graduate of West Brunswick High School, is employed with Bogle Electric in Lit tle River, S.C.
