Benefits Of The Blitz Will Be Forthcoming BY SUSANNF. D. SARTELLE, EXECUTIVE VICE PRKSIDEN* I South Brunswick Islands Chamber Of Commerce There were ten tired people in Brunswick County last week Tired, but very, very enthusiastic! Now that I have officially recovered from the I 40 Blitz, I feel like telling the world about its success. First, I need to say a huge thank you to the nine other "Blitzers" ? Terry Barbce, Allan Dameron and Annette Odom from the South Brunswick Chamber, and Billy Carter, Sabrina Hodges, David Kelly, Margaret Rudd and Vicki Spencer from the Southport-Oak island Chamber They worked dili gently all week promoting Brunswick County in 22 towns along 1-40, and they arc among the world's best as goodwill ambassadors. Aside from the immediate success we saw during the blitz, there arc many, many benefits coming our way now. For exam ple, we have the opportunity to join forces with a radio station during the Southern Women's Show in Raleigh this April. We will receive lots and lots of publicity! We also have been asked to get involved with 1-40 promotion. It seems that the state realizes our interest in this important Interstate and what it can mean for Brunswick County. It is exciting too that our businesses here will see results from this promotion. We know that more people will visit ous area because of the goodwill that was spread. Too, many people now know about us who before did not. Thank you to all who had a hand in the Blitz ? the blitzers, the sponsors of golf and vacations, and the financial contributors. You all had a hand in the success so far and the success that is to come as a result. Brunswick County, you're on the map!
