\ \ To Wed June 19 Carl Clyde and Donna Ann Plummer Schwartz of Missouri have announced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Carta l*e Barton of Southport, to the Rev. iMndis Ray White of Ash. White is the son of the late Johnny Allen White and Eva Carolyn Ilewett Caison. Their wedding is set Saturday, June 19, in Trinity Tabernacle at Mill Creek. All friends and family are invited. CLUB BRIEFS 'Pathetic Medic' To Be Rotary Speaker The Rotary Club of the South Brunswick Islands will welcome au thor and humorist John W. Lewis as program speaker for its June 18 meeting. Lewis is a critical care paramedic employed at a trauma center in Charleston, W.Va. He went into the emergency medical services Held af ter receiving his second college de gree in 1975. He will speak about his 18 years in emergency medicine as well as his look, "The Pathetic Medic." His book is a collection of humorous quotes and anecdotes from several thousand ambulance calls. Lewis lives in Bancroft, W.Va. and spends two weeks every sum mer vacationing on Holden Beach. Beachcombers To Meet The Beachcombers Extension Homemakers Club will meet Wed nesday, June 9, at 10 a.m., at Bona parte Retreat, Calabash. Mary Russ, home economics ex tension agent, will present a pro gram on "Recycled Products?A Good Idea." NARFE Meeting Set The Brunswick County Chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NAR FE) will hold its monthly meeting at the Sandfiddler Restaurant, South pon, on Tuesday, June 8, at noon. Guest speaker will be Diana David of the Brunswick County Health Department, who will dis cuss nutrition. All members and prospective members arc encouraged to attend.
