Recertification will allow property owners affected by the Town of Ocean Isle Beach Floodplain Management Ordinance to continue to receive the benefits of a Class 8 Rating. As a class 8 community flood insurance rates are discounted 10 percent on top of any other discounts a property owner may be entitled to through individual actions. The recertification application procedures require that annual reports be made on several plans and activities. These reports contain information on the FloodPlain Management Plan, Flood Warning Pro gram, Repetitive Loss Plan, and other activities re quired for participation in the Community Rating System.
