.J K!sfdSlri:jos Hertford Indians snapped their three game losing streak last Thurs day night when they trounced the Ply mouth Rams 8-4. Jack Gaines did a masterful pitching job .against the Rams, giving up six hits, and, strik ing out seven. Plymouth scorqd three runs in the first, but the Indians had a field day in' the second collecting seven hits and eight runs.. Still somewhat handicapped ; due to injuries the Indians played moat of the week with a make-shift line-up. Tom Swain was obtained to play short stop, Bill Beregon was moved into centerfield, and Fred Montsdebca re placed Red Kimbrell at first base. Red was injured Thursday night, when he nearly tore off a finger nail attempt ing to catch a Ram player off base. Baker of Nicanor community recently had 'the Soil Conservation Service technicians working with the Albemarle District survey a lead ditch on his farm. Mr. Baker wanted to determine if his ditch had an ade quate outlet before going to the ex pense of having it cleaned out. . , , G. W.
