Both Engaged ? HURDLE-LEIGH Mrs. Fannie E. Hurdle of Route 4 Hertford announces the engagment of her daughter, Sallie Ruth Hurdle, to James Ronald Leigh, son of Mrs. George C. The program, sponsored by the Albemar'e Commission, is for anyone 60 years of age or older. There is no charge for meals, however; donations are accepted. Service news - WELCH Army Pvt. Keith M. Welch, son of Helen and Sylvester Welch of Route 2, Hertford, has arrived for duty in Wuerzberg West Germany. Welch, an armor crew member with the 3rd Infantry Division, was previously assigned at Fort Knox, Kentucy. He is a 1983 graduate of Perquimans High School. BRYANT Staff Sgt. Arlene Bryant, daughter of Rosa Nunez of 1854 Monroe Ave. and Carmelo Nunez of 2010 Mapes Ave., both of New York, has re-enlisted in the U. S. Air Force at Makah Air Force Station, Washington, for four years. Bryant is an administration specialist with the 758th Radar Squadron. Her husband, Dallas, is the son of Dallas and Mary Bryant of Route 2, Hertford. BUSTEED Navy Seaman Recruit Frederick G. Busteed, son of Stanley K. and Harriet H. Busteed of Route 1, Hertford, has completed recruit training with Navy Recruit Training Command Navy Training Center, Great Lake*. IL. During Busteed's eight-week training cycle, he studied general military subjects designed to prepare him for further academic and on-the-job training in one of the Navy's 85 basic fields. Peach Cheese Spread 1 16-oz. can peach slices in juice or extra light syrup 16 ox. cream cheese, softened 2 Tbsp. minced green onion 2tsp. garlic salt 1 tsp. dill weed crackers Drain peaches reserving two tablespoons juice. Chop pesches finely and set aside. Combine softened cream cheese, reserved peach juice, onions, garlic salt and dill weed in a food processor or mixer bowl. Process until smooth.
