Bethwaze Singing Saturday Night A singing program, under sponsorship of the Bethware FHA chapter, will be presented at the Bethwarte high school Saturday night at 8 o'clock. The quartets participating in the program will be "The Happy Four" of Union, S. C., and "The Ambassadors" of Gaffney, S, C. Palmer Huffstetler, Milton Hope, Buddy Mayes, and Ronald Layton of Kings Mountain high school will pantomime the "Sun shine Boys" group. Admission for advanced tickets will be 30 and 60 cents, door ad mission 40 and 75 cfents and the public is cordially invited. A POEM Pfc. Ray E. Brazeale, a mem ber of the 224th Infantry Regi ment, Hq. and Hq. Co. in Korea, has written the following poem which he stent to his parents; K1NOS MOUNTAIN You hear people boast and brag of their big city Don't let them get you down, Kings Mountain, With them you should have pity. You have no oil wells or any coal mines All you have is your history, And your big tall pines. You have few movie stars, if any But why should you caret With your little town, No place can compare. When people ask from where you come, Don't hang your head and act shy, Just step right up and say, Kings Mountain, Until the day you die. Postol Receipts Up, But Not That MuchI Receipts at Kings Mountain post office increased during Feb- 1 ruary but' riot as greatly as re- , ported last week. February receipts were report ed correctly at $5,373.55, with the error occuring in post office re ports of February 1953 totals, list ed at 3,327.32, but actually $3,894. 66. The change pares the increase to $1,478.89. For the first two months of the calendar year, the totals are: $10, 635.30 an increase of $2,522.31 over the $8,112.99 for the first two months of 1953.
