This project calls for IBO feet of 80 Inch p^e and 800 feet of 86 inch pipe for a total cost of materials the state will provide at $11,120 with the city paying $4600 to take care of drainage area off the right-of-way from N. Hie board took the recommenda tion of the city planning and zoning 'board and rezoned from N-B to R-8 property of W. James Caipenter at 102 N. DUllng St. The matter had been tabled from a previous meeting. Upon request of Southern Railway Oo., the board voted to post signs on Llnwood Rd. from Cleveland Ave. to Piedmont Ave. restricting low body 'trucks. Mayor Moss said these trucks sometimes get hung on the tracks and delay train traffic, of- times result In accidents. The board authorized the use of the Southern Standard Housing Code, 1976 Edition with 1877 adden dums to “keep abreast," said the mayor, "of the codes and bring them up to date In compliance with re quirements In housing programs." Certification of results of the re cent municipal run-off election was made. J. J. Dickey received 198 votes In Bast Kings Mountain, 896 In West Kings Mountain. Fred J. Wright, Jr. received 267 votes In East Kings Mountain precinct and 290 In West. Total vote was 686 for Dickey and 617 for Wright. Darwdn Moss received one write-in vote at the West Box. Following a public hearing, the board approved petition from Otha . and Betty Campbell to rezone from R-8 to neighborhood business property at 902 Second St. tor a small store. The board contracted with the N. C. Department of Natural and Eco nomic Resources for assistance wdth the city’s energy program and com munity development program in the amount of $10,000, $6,000 of which would be earmarked for assistance and planning of the community development program and $4,000 to be used In the solar energy program.
