•A—BDBIIOIl-raRALD—TburiAijr, July M, un KM Rescue Squad Has Responded To 34 Calls Kings MounUln Rescue Squad responded to 84 house calls, 18 of which were emergency calls, transporting 80 patients to various hospitals. In cluding one person to Washington, D.C. Tills was Included In the Squad’s monthly report made by Sgt. Roy Ham mett. Four emergency blood runs were also made by the Rescue Squad, a patient was transported to VA Hospital at Oteen, and the Squad responded to the scene of five wrecks, transporting nine Injured people to various doctor’s clinics and hospitals. ’Two people were dead on arrival at Kings Mountain Hospital, and the Squad assisted on a search party In Shelby for a missing woman, who was found dead, at three fires, and In assisting out-of-clty am bulances passing through the city at busy In tersections. ’The report covered the month period ending yesterday. ROTARY PROGRAM William Davis, superintendent of the Kings Mountain 'District Schools will present the Kings Mountain Rotary Qub program today at noon at the country club. Charged For Worthless Checks ..YOUTH PREPARING FEAST-’The young members of Temple Baptist Church honored Youth Fellowship President Clayton Wright, who is en tering military service, following ser vices last Sunday. In the fellowship hall the youth lined a rain gutter with aluminum fell, then constructed a 80 foot long banana split for the entire congregation which gathered to say goodbye to Wright. Mrs. Mary Howell Is youth committee chairman and Rev. Robert Austin is church pastor. Bobby Qurley Baber, 20, of 1807 S. Main St., Fovmtain Inn, S.C., was arrested Saturday af ternoon by KMPD Patrolman James Camp and charged with wor thless check violation. Baber had reportedly attempted to purchase a major appliance at a local fUmiture store when he was apprehended, ac cording to police reports. American Legion Dance GOSPEL SING "The Winning Com binations" will play for an American Leglon- ^onsored dance Saturday night at the American Legion Building on York Road. Music will be from 8 p.m. until midnight. Legionnaires, their wives, and guests are Invited to attend.
