Rev. John McWhorter heard the couple pledge vows of the double-ring ceremony. Mra. Edith Kereh waa organist and Ronnie Whlanant was guitarist for the program of nuptial music. Tlie altar of the church was arranged with yellow and white flowers. Victor L. Flake, Jr. escorted hla daughter to the altar and gave her In marriage. The brlde’a wedding gown was a formal design of white Chantilly lace designed along empire lines with of f- ifioulder-draped hodlce. She wore a white pic. hat of lace sind carried an antique lace handkerchief and wore a pendant that are tradltlonsd at weddings In her mother's family. Mrs. Cathy Barrows of Cary was her sister’s matron of honor. She wore a blue formal-length dress and carried a bouquet of daisies, white carnations and baby's breath. Samuel A. Weathers of Shelby was his son’s best man. Qroomsmen were Gerald Weathers of Shelby, brother of the bridegroom; and Mike Somers of Shelby. The bride’s parents entertained after the ceremony at a beautlfuUy- tq>polnted reception which carried out the yellow and white theme of the wed ding. A threv>tlered yellow and white wedding cake was topped with roses and served with punch and party refreshments. Assisting In serving and' MRS. Weathers of Shelby. He Is a graduate of Shelby High School and a 1976 graduate of Gardner- Webb CoUege with a B.S. degree.
