SaptamiMt 18. 1980 Mrsa Payne Is Guest Speaker Mrs. Flay Payne, ad ministrator of Kings Mountain Convalescent Center, was guest speaker at Monday night’s meeting of United Methodist Women at Central United Methodist Church. She used the topic, “Suppor tive Roles In The Community” and stressed the need for volunteers in the nursing home, citing the many areas in which volunteers can become involved. Mrs. C. L. Jolly presented Mrs. Payne and Mrs. Judy Nor wood presided over business of the meeting. Seminar Opens Sept. 22 Openings are still available in a bookkeeping seminar for small businesses scheduled for 7-10 p.m.. Sept. 22, at Cleveland Technical College, Board Room, Shelby, N.C. The seminar will present an overview of basic accounting and record-keeping needs for small busineses. It is designed for individuals already in business and for those who plan to go in to business. Robert Willey, a Certified Ac countant, will conduct the seminar, which is sponsored jointly by Western Carolina University’s Center for Improv ing Mountain Living, the Small Business Administration, the Economic Development Ad ministration, the National Association of Accountants, and the Greater Shelby Chamber of Commerce. The cost is $15, including materials.
