material and labor for the in
stallation and construction of
fencing of the Deal Street
Recreation Park Old Little
League Baseball Field, Parker
Street, of the City of Kings
Mountain.
No bid shall be considered or
accepted by the City of Kings
Mountain unless at the time of
its-filing)-the same shril be ac
companied by a deposit of cash
or certified check on some bank
or trust company insured by the
Federal Deposit Insurance Cor
poration in an amount equal to
not less than five percent (5 *70) of
the proposal. In lieu of making a
cash deposit, the bidder may file
a bid bond executed by a cor
porate surety, licensed under the
laws of North Carolina to ex
ecute such bonds, conditioned
that the surety will, upon de
mand forthwith, make payment
to the obligee u^n said bond if
the bidder fails to execute the
Contract in accordance with the
Bid Bond, and upon failure to
forthwith make payment, the
surety shall pay to the obligee an
amount equal to double the
amount of the bid bond. This
deposit shall be retained if the
successful bidder fails to execute
the Contract within fifteen (15)
days after the award or fails to
give satisfactory surety as re
quired herein.
The successful bidder shall be
required to enter into a Contract
with the City of Kings Mountain
in writing and shall be required
to furnish Bond on some surety
company authorized to do
business in the State, or make a
deposit of money, certified
check, or government sureties
for the full amount of said Con
tract for the faithful perfor
mance of terms of said Contract
as required in Section 143-129 of
the General Statutes of North
Carolina.

Junction with military
assignments, Acquaro has
played in the Honolulu Interna
tional Soccer League and the
Greater Indianapolis Soccer
League. Presently, he is co
captain of the Fort Jackson Soc
cer Team and coaches for a
youth soccer league there.
Sergeant 1st Class Peter Lufte,
a senior personnel sergeant at
Fort Jackson, has played soccer
for more than 30 years. Starting
in amateur soccer in his native
Germany at the age of five, he
eventually entered the German
semi-pro ranks before coming to
the United States and joining the
Army in 1967. In 1973 and
1974, Lufte played for the
University of New Mexico in
Albequerque was later active in
intra-state soccer league competi
tion in New Mexico and Alaska.
More recently, he has been in
volved in a number of youth soc
cer programs in Columbia and
he officiates for the South
Carolina Soccer League. Sgt.
Lufte has played on and coached
championship soccer teams at
Fort Jackson for the past seven
years.
Both men will be in the
physical education classes all day
to teach, demonstrate, and coach
the rules and fundamentals of
soccer to all of the students. The
faculty is being invited to par
ticipate.

will be presenting its senior class
play “Hillbilly Wedding” April
9-11 at 8 p.m. at B.N. Barnes
Auditorium.
