reived from marketing tohacco. Jones says it's less work in growing
this tobacco than the slue cured, and (he rest is far less than flue
cured tobacco. This crop certainly has a place on the favm wh«re tahm
available. Jones says the tohaero should be transplanted in April
as the harvesting will not interfere with harvesting of flue cured crop

Warren Farmer Sells
Cotton By The Hour

i he is now selling cotton by the
, hour instead of by the round. In
| one hour his cotton profits him

i Alston says he had 1,285 pound
of seed cotton which valued at
12 1-2 cents per pound which a
| mounted to $157.41. He decided to
; have the cotton ginned and baled.
; The cost of ginning came to $126.76.
1 His baled cotton weighed 475 lbs.
! and sold for $165.40. He sold the
| seeds for sl7
By having his cotton ginned and
( baled, he grossed $133.40 less the
j cost of ginning ($12.76). Alston says
1 he only had to wait about 45 min
utes to get his cotton ginned, but
for $12.23 extra, he could afford
to wail all day and come back
the next day
Alston says he thinks he still lost
