John the- Baptist, the four evangelists and the twelve apostles did not need to speak with oaths since they pro claimed that which had al ready been prophesied. But with Paul it was different. Separate from the twelve, who were wid< ly known as the a postles of Christ, Paui had been raised up to make known a wonderful secret which God had kept secret from all who had gone before. While not a con tradiction of prophecy, this se cret had nevertheless not been prophesied; it was a new re velation. Hence it was appropi ate that the apostle should in sist again and again that he wrote as in the presence of God. Question; How familiar are you with the epistles of Paul? MEDITATION BY COLIN DOUGLAS A SERMONETTE weaknesses, you are beginning to release t our old ideas, your old doubts -- and you are mak life, a new belief in your ability to cope with every pro blem and situation that may con front von. Remember that you: life need not be like anyone else’s life, for your part in God’s great plan is not like any - one else’s part. Remember that through prayer, through close “conversation” with the Fatti er, we can discovt r our own accomplishing powers, our own place in life. Your happiness will come from following faithfully your own path, fulfilling your own desires and aspirations, living the God life of service -- not only to yourself, but to other people. “Jehovah will be thy confi dence.” -- Proverbs 3;26.
