FUQUAY-VARINA BY BETTY MERRITT HOIXY SPRINGS - Morning services were held at the First Baptist Church where the Rev. Gris will of Kitreil presided. He also delivered the morning message. The rigid hand of fel lowship was extended to the can didates and Holy Communion was served. Music was rend ered by the senior choir. Douglas Chapel also held morning service with the pas tor, Rev, Frank L. Rush, in charge. He delivered quite a heart-searching message. Mu sic was rendered by the inter mediate choir The Usher Board of First Baptist sponsored a musical program Sunday evening. Rev. John H„ Jones, pastor of the United Church of Christ, gave some very helpful remarks. At 8 p-m„ we returned to Douglas Chapel tor a musical program. Along with the Cap ital City Five, were the Voices of Harmony and the Daughters of Zion. Are enjoyed a fine af fair. The town of Holly Springs wishes to welcome all visi tors. POLLY TAYLOR ANGIER - Woman’s Day services were observed on Sun day morning at Williams Cha pel AME Zion Church. Rev. William M. Freeman is pastor. Worship service began immedi ately after Sunday School with Mrs. A. G, Freeman as mis tress of ceremony. The junior choir rendered music for the occasion. Scripture was read by Mrs. Polly Taylor. Prayer was offered by Mrs. Edoshia Bla lock. A presentation of a cor sage of red roses was made by Mrs. Maude Cutts to the speaker, Mrs. Christine Black of Fuquay-Varina. Mrs. Black delivered a very spiritual mes sage. LOUISE CAESAR FUQUAY’-VARINA - Sunday School was held at all local churches with the superintend ents in charge of the devotions. First Baptist Church opened Sunday School at 10 a.m. with the supt., Mr. Alford Thorpe, in charge. The subject of the lesson was “A Kingdom Col lapses the Bible,” from I King 10:25. We were happy to have Mr. Nash Horton visiting our Sunday School. He gave some highlights of the lesson. Morning worship services were held at St. Augusta Church where the pastor is Rev. J. M. Jackson. The message was de livered by the pastor. He chose his text from Corinthians 2:2 ior choir rendered the music. Prayer was offered by Mr. James White. The scripture was taken from the Book of Acts 12:112. The text of same being: “God Never Leaves Us Alone.” ANNOUNCEMENTS On October 5, the junior choir will sing for the Tent Sisters service.
