Ibis Is to noitly oil persons having claims against her Esiair to prevem them lo the TJie dynamic James (Stone) Walker is one of the most powerful bowlers in the league. He rolls a curve bail that almost never misses the pocket. Stone has been bowling for 2>3 years and carries a 189 average. He has won twenty trophies which includes awards for high game, high series as well as first and second place team events. Stone possesses pro-like qua lities and when 1 asked him why he didn't try for a piece of that action he explained that he felt this approach was inperfect. But after continuance practice and encouragement. I predict that Stone will go pro and excel because he has what it takes to do just that. This is James (Stone) Walker, another distin guished black bowler for the Raleigh Mixers. Weil, it was a long hard night at Pairlanca Monday night. 'Hie Mark V put up a tough fight against Holden's Cleaners and came out the winner by a 2-3 margin. Stone Walker roiled a hot 215-233-187 for a 635, Junior Brown shot an “out-of-sight" 226-233-187 to cap a 646 set. Rabbi Williams bowled a 167-162-177 for a 506 set. Jackie Peebles had a 143-162-143 to earn a 448 set and yours truly was a little help with a 147-169-158-474 set. Holden's was really bowling though Clarence (Hook) Mor gan rolled a 170-213-170 for a 553 set. Joe Harris a 153-188-224 for a 565. Rev. Ward had a 153-163-213 to get a 529 and Iris Crum had a 177-118-164 for a nice 456 set. The Blazers just won't ease up at all in their sky rocket to the top. They put the Johnson Five down. 4-0 and knocked them out of first place. Super-star Betty Thomas came up with a 144-160-214 for a nice 518 set. Nathaniel Montague had a 183-158-170 for a 511 set; Terry Hough socked a 161-200- 180 lo get a 541; Albert Roscoe had 185-203-158 lo earn a 546 and .-\rdo Holt bowled a 168-156-184 for a 508. The w re.'s look on The Friendly Five and beat them. 3 to 1. Donald Williams bowled a nice 176-153-149 for a 478 set. John Williams had a 146-182-148 to earn a 476. Larry Lewis of The Friendly Five bowled a 14T-157151 for a 445 and Carl West had a 143 145-142 for a 432 set. The Lucky Five look 3 games from The Newcomers with Rev, Coppedge bowling a 132-156-137 f'Tra 425; J. Prince rolled a nice 123 and came back strong with a 219 and 143 to get a 485. It was more than a pleasure tu have Al Newkirk to sub Monday night. He is dynamite as he did a fantastic 233-206-156 for a wild 692 set. Come hack again soon Al we did surely appreciate that. For The Newcomers Fred Mangum had a 139-161-171 for a 471 and Dennis Sutton a 187-171-170 to get a 525 set. Standings for the week show The Blazers arc on top by a 46-30 margin. The Johnson Five are in .second. 4:1 33 The Lucky Five holds third bv a 39-37 lead Holden s is in lOurtn wiin a 37-39 tied with The W.t.’.C.'s with total pins being the deciding factor. The Mark V are in sixth place with a 36-40 mark. The Newcomers in seventh with :l4':-41'j and The Friendlv Five IS at the bottom, 32‘j-14'.- Well things are really galling rough and time is running out .so from now until the end there’s going to be some serious bowling going on.
