P«q8-THE WEWS-Augutt 1983 Your Federa Federation Campaigns Cash In By Marvin Bienstock “But do they pay!” That’s a question often posed to Ruth Goldberg, Federation Vice-President in charge of Cash Collections. The person asking is trying to discover just how real in terms of cash are the cam paign figures released by Federation. In the 10 years since 1973 and the Yom Kippur War, the Charlotte Jewish Federa tion obtained pledges of more than million dollars of which less than 1% re mained on the books for the years 1973-1981. For the 1982 campaign just six months past completion, more than 95% has already been received and distributed to the United Jewish Appeal, local, state and national agencies. Even more striking, 49% of the 1983 campaign pledges have already been paid! “The credit for this marvelous cash collection ef fort belongs to Ruth Goldberg,” says Richard A. Klein, President of the Charlotte Jewish Federa tion. “Her dedicated and persistent efforts have made Charlotte a model for the rest of the nation.” Since the Worker TbMuk Yon Dinnor Mootter $24,900 ha$ been raised bringing the cunpnign to $774,300 up SS% over 1982.
