The series, co ordinated by Jody Pinion, still has three more workshops which you may attend for a small fee. On November 7, learn about Infant Stimulation, from Susan Staples. On November 14, Patsy Briggs, from the County Health Department, presents a workshop on Im munization. The final workshop, November 21, is “Your Child’s Self-Esteem” led by Helen Harrill of the Charlotte Drug Education Center. All workshops are at the JCC (Armstrong House trailer). Chai Group October was a month filled with exciting programs and speakers. The morning class '‘Great Religions of the World” has been both educa tional and entertaining and will continue through Dec. 10. Afternoon speakers have in cluded various political representatives. Rabbi Harold Krantzler of Temple Beth El, and Adrienne Rosenberg, Director of Jewish Federation Social Services. A trip to the Blumenthal Home is scheduled for Nov. 12. Future afternoon pro grams include Marty Schneer, Director of the Jewish Com munity Center, discussing election results, the Charlotte Police Dept, on personal security, and Rabbi Robert Seigel of Temple Beth Shalom. For more information about the programs offered, call the JCC at 366-0357. Clubs 23 (second and third graders) and 46 (fourth, fifth and sixth graders) got off to rousing starts in October. Club 23 piled into two sta tion wagons, driven by Club leader Rita Keane and volun teer Barbara Bernhardt, to visit Discovery Place’s Mup- pet Show. There the children enjoyed television shorts, models of Muppet movie sets, and the Muppet puppets themselves. They even had the chance to operate some Mup- pets on stage for their club- mates to watch on closed-cir- cuit video. The afternoon end ed in a celebration of Michael Abel’s seventh birthday with delicious cupcakes baked by his mother for the Club. Club 46 got spooked out of their jeems by a hilarious trip to a haunted house. Rita Keane led them on a trip she recalled enjoying for many of her years growing up in Charlotte. It was a great kick- off to a scary Halloween week, complete with tricks and treats. Both clubs are anxious ly awaiting news of their up coming adventures, which will be arranged on a monthly basis, dependent upon the discussions of Rita and the children.
