Volunteers were suplied with bagels, cakes, etc. from Bubbe’s Bagels; The House of Hunan, Gilio’s and Shun Lee gave free dinners to the volunteers who had the most “balloons” for each shift. Some of the winning volunteers also received gift certificates and merchandise from Tops on Down, The Eye Care Clinic, the Kronovet family, Sandy Berlin and Famous Mart. Bedloons were given out for new pledges and for increased pledges. Some chairs were so loaded with balloons that they almost took flight.
