Holders of 76-77 Israel Bonds Can Get Full Value Now Holders of Israel Bonds pur chased in 1976 and 1977 (due to mature 1991 and 1992) can receive credit for the full matu rity value of their 4% Bonds up to 24 months in advance if they reinvest in new Bonds. Jerome Levin, General Chair of the Charlotte Bonds Cam paign, said all Israel 4% Bonds issued through 1977 are eligible for this advance reinvestment program provided Bond holders add additional funds and pur chase a higher denomination than the Bonds they currently hold. Securities which may be pur chased under this plan include Seventh Development Issue Bonds, the Individual Variable Rate Issue Bonds, as well as the $250 certificates. It is not pos sible to buy Variable Rate Issue Bonds or zero coupon Bonds through advanced reinvestment. Levin emphasized the impor tant role Israel Bond reinvest ment plays in the effort to help absorb the influx of Soviet immigrants to Israel. He added, “These extra Bond proceeds will help Israel to provide jobs and housing for the newcomers. “Check your safe deposit box and your files. If you are holding 4% Bonds issued through 1977, call the Regional Israel Bond office at (804) 622-4631 for information about the simple reinvestment procedure.” . ORT Israel— Operation Broken Glass Six ORT schools in the Tel Aviv area — which for reasons of security cannot be specifically identified — have been damaged by the impact and blast of Scud missiles and are undergoing rush repairs by ORT Israel students and staff in Operation Broken Glass. Even when intercepted by Patriot missiles, the force of the exploding Scuds has been so great that windows have been smashed and doors wrenched from their frames for many blocks around. In one school all the windows on two floors of the main building were blown out. In another older building, a combination of a missile hitting several blocks away and a heavy downpour of rain, collapsed a portion of the roof. Repairs include installing windows of security glass reinforced with strips of tape to prevent shatter ing by future blasts. Classrooms at the schools have been sealed against poison gas. In a live broadcast on Israeli radio, commentators asked ORT high school students how they felt about Operation Bro ken Glass. Said one student, “It takes our minds off the stress and gives us something to do while we wait for the next missile attack.” a Mazza-Hennes Congratulations to Neil Hennes, son of Carolyn and Stuart Hennes, on his engagement to Susan Mazza.
