Moms, dads and children are all encouraged to participate as we conduct a Shabbat service and partake in Kiddish with the residents. The service will be followed by a special luncheon prepared for us. This event was a memorable one for all the Men’s Club mem bers and their families who attended last year. Everyone is welcome to come and volunteer to take part in the service. If interested please call Mark Titlebaum, 541-9758. Passover Wine Sale The Temple Israel Men’s Club is again sponsoring a Passover Kosher wine sale to take place on Sunday, Apr. 12. Take this opportunity to stock up on Kosher wine for Passover, Sabbath and upcoming holi days. Look for an order form in your mail soon or call Alan Sussman, 846-6267, for addi tional information. In January the children of the Charlotte Jewish Preschool par ticipated in events and activities related to Tu B’Shevat. In Ju- daica classes Carol Klein has been teaching the children to speak in Hebrew. They have learned new words related to Tu B’Shevat, and can say several blessings in Hebrew as well. The children have also been discuss ing the importance of trees and at the Tu B’Shevat Seder they tasted several fruits that grow in Israel. The preschool has benefited from participation from both Temple Beth El V’Shalom and Temple Israel. Parents and children enjoy the stories and songs from the Rabbis and Temple educational directors at the Shabbat programs on Friday mornings. Many thanks to the Temple Beth El V’Shalom Sis terhood for cosponsoring the “VIVA KLEZMER!” concert for the parents and preschoolers. Highlights in February in clude the annual Pajama Party on the 12th. Teachers and chil dren will come to school dressed in pajamas prepared for fun and games. Registration for the 1992-1993 school year is underway. To register your child at the Char lotte Jewish Preschool, contact director Carol Klein, 366-5007, or stop by the preschool office at Shalom Park. — Linda Zucker Rabbi Seigel conducting Friday morning Shabbat program. Temple Beth El V’Shalom’s Architects Win Award Temple Beth El V’Shalom’s new building, designed by the Princeton Architectural Studio: a joint venture between Kehrt Shatken Sharon Architects and Michael Landau, Associates, was cited for Commendation in an exhibition of 78 entries in the annual exhibition sponsored by the New Jersey Society of Ar chitects. The Jury was comprised of four out-of-state professionals with national reputations in their fields of design. They were: Steven C. Gatschet, AIA; John Owen Higgins; Robert A.M. Stern, FAIA; and Stanley Tig- erman, FAIA. This is a real tribute to the design capability of The Prince ton Architectural Studio. In citing this project, the Jury had this to say: “This building conveys a cer tain attitude about religion and theology in America that’s very strong, very believable and moving. The combination of tradition and contemporary image is very successful.” Jewish Calendar Candlelighting Feb. Feb. Feb. Feb.
