The Charlotte Jewish News - December 2008 - Page 27 Youth Visions Hebrew Highlights With the excitement of the high holidays over and the regular school year in full gear, I finally have time to think about the bless ings of being in a community that values Jewish Education and sup ports our institutions. I hear from colleagues all over the country, that supplementary Jewish high schools are having trouble filling their classrooms and retaining teachers. Many attribute this to the economic slow down. Others blame the demands that we put on our teenagers and the competition for their time. Some feel that their programs lack community support. Luckily, here in Charlotte, we are not suffering from any of these disturbing trends. Our enrollment is up, our kids are learning and connecting to the Jewish commu nity and our families and temples support our program, even in hard economic times. Please visit us. on any Wednesday night (we are located Hebrew High students "clowning around” while doing a Mitzvah Project.
