Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte Receives United Jewish
Communities’ 2008 Sapir Award for Outstanding Annual
Campaign
The Jewish Federation of
Greater Charlotte is pleased to
announce that it has been chosen
as a recipient of the United Jewish
Communities (UJC) Sapir Award
for Campaign Excellence. The
Sapir Award is UJC/Federation’s
highest honor for Federations, rec
ognizing communities that have
demonstrated significant achieve
ment in their Annual Campaigns.
Our Federation was one of 15
Federations to receive the award
for its fundraising efforts in the
2008 campaign. The Charlotte
Annual Campaign raised
$3,183,742 in 2008, a 5 percent
increase over the previous year -
an especially remarkable achieve
ment given the economic down
turn.

Winning the Sapir Award is based
on a series of criteria that cover
the major aspects of campaign
activity including annual cam
paign increases, donor acquisition
and retention, and campaign inno
vation.

on the 2010 Campaign Team.
According to Cary Bernstein and
Alan Kronovet, co-chairs of the
campaign, “The members of our
team are ready to meet with as
many donors as they can to share
their personal stories and get to
know the members of our commu
nity. We want to engage new
donors and thank our previous
donors for their ongoing support
of the Jewish Federation.”
The 2010 Campaign Team is
made up of a dynamic group of
seasoned and new leaders who are
gearing up for a successful year.
Special kudos goes to past leaders
of the campaign who have agreed
to serve as “coaches” to mentor
each of the teams. ^
