a TWO PAI EMPLOYEES INCLUDED IN STUDENTS AT ROLLS-ROYCE ENGINE SCHOOL, ENGLAND L. H. Jackson, Chief Inspector-INT and J. F. Wood, Engineer-INT, recently re turned from a three week stay in England where they attended the Rolls-Royce Engine factory school . Highlights of the trip, in addition to the school at Derby,was the superb food, hos pitality and service exhibited by BOAC. The return trip was made by way of Iceland on the northern route for the purpose of refueling. Again, warm hospitality pre vailed as the passengers were served coffee and cake during the midnight interruption on their fl ight. In addition to our Jim Wood and L. H. Jackson, members from the following air lines were represented at the Rolls-Royce Engine School: Indian Air Lines, Paki - Stan Airlines, Union of Burma Airways, Air Austria, Trans Air Limited, Rome Air lines and British European Airways. There was also a member from the Rolls-Royce plant in Canada present. ^liou^lit ^or tlie Why is there never enough time to do it RIGHT and always enough time to do it OVERl PILOT COMPLEMENT INCREASED BY ELEVEN Seven new co-pilots began their Ground School Training Course on April 1 under the leadership of our newly appointed Director of Training, John Rehder. Captain Mike Holton; , INT, is assisting John with certain phases of the pilot training. Those who started on April 1 are: Johnnie Flowers, Sidney Gibbs, William Hart, Brownlow Pack, Dan Wil I iams,al I new with the Company. Joe High from our C HvV station and Hubert VanHorn fromPAI/HTW also began on April 1 . Jessie Craig and Edward Wilson joined the group on April 8 and William Rowell on April 15, all of whom are new employees. William Matthews will transfer sometime during April from Purser to Ground School, completing the eleven.. A cordial welcome is extended to all you fellows^and we hope you enjoy being a member of the pilot group and Piedmont family. We have been having Sales Training Classes each Monday this month. The classes are arranged so each agent can attend. They have been informative and irteresting and everyone has enjoyed them. We have had quite a few NRSA's through here lately - glad to hove had them and still looking for the restofyou tocomeby. TRI-C ITIES . . . Don Shanks The local liars advise me that fishing is good on the many lakes in this vicinity at this time. So,grab your fishing poles and head this way. If by chance some of you would like further info on this, I suggest you drop Messrs. Bill Johnson,Milt Ward, Lee Pickel or Ray Norris a note and they can bring you up-to-date on the local fishing holes. We regret to announce the resignation of John Owen who came with PAI about a year ago and has been a first class agent since his first week with the Company . John has accepted a position with the LYH office of the CAA. We wish Johnny the best of luck.
