Barber received his 25 year pin from President Davis at the recent service pin luncheon held at INT. Piedmonitor Pix 1 OFF TO A FLYING START - These Hollins College girls left ROA via Piedmont for SDF. Then they travelled on to PUK where they boarded a raft for a 950 mile journey down the Mississippi. The modern Huck Finns (gal style) ended their voyage in New Orleans ready to mix business with pleasure. For Sale: one raft, stout timbers supported by oil drums, $1,800. ft I s ISO AVIATION DAY — On May 22nd Stallings Field was the sight of a number of aerial demonstrations. Along with a North Carolina Forestry Service Formation flying demon stration and a fly-over by four FI 05 aircraft of the 4th Tatical Fighter wing of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Piedmont provided scenic flights over Kinston and the surround ing community. Shown in the top picture are spectators, from left Richard Whaley, Chair man of the Lenoir County Board of Commissioners, U. S. Congressman L. H. Fountain, Mrs. Shirley Hearn, secretary in the office of the Kinston Chamber of Commerce and Jim Billings, Executive Vice President of the Kinston Chamber. The lower pictures shows part of the crowds lined up to board the special Piedmont flights. At the left are Piedmont ISO personnel and the flight crew for the scenic flights. They are, from left, Capt. L. W. McNames, Wade Allen, ISO Station manager, Diane Somersett, Kinston Agent Glenn Smith and co-pilot R. H. Mobley.
