Board Report Says Our
Passengers Are Happiest
Piedmont is bacl\ on top in the latest Civil
Aeronautics Board’s Consumer Report.
For the months of October and November
they recorded fewer complaints per 100,000
boardin^^•s from Piedmont passenj>ers than for
any other airline in the continental United
States.
The year-to-date figures also revealed Pied
mont has had far fewer total complaint letters
than the other carriers. Through the month
of November we’ve had only 60 letters. With
one exception, all other airlines are well over
the 100 letter mark.
In October Piedmont had .68 complaint
letters per 100,000 enplanements and for No
vember the report showed Piedmont with 1.54.
Not only are our passengers happier than
anyone else’s, they are happier than they were
last year. The figures showed a 25'/ decrease
for Piedmont in the number of letters through
November this yeai' compared with the same
period in 1971.
Our happy passengers are also Hying in
record numbers. More than 58,000 were board
ed during the November Thanksgiving holi
days.
A new single-day boarding record was set
Wednesday the 22nd when 13,217 passengers
were enplaned. This eclipsed the old record of
12,256 set on Sunday after Thanksgiving last
year.
This record lasted only three days until
Sunday, November 26th, when a total of 13,728
travellers Hew the Pacemaker routes and
established our current record day.
The new all-time high capped ofi' the six
day November 22-27 holiday travel period that
saw Piedmont carry 58,378 passengers.
