Phil Bostick, formerly a senior supervisor in Charleston, West Vir ginia, is the first station manager for Pied mont’s Boston operation. He has been with the Company since 1962. Jim Vipperman, who was sales manager in Newark, has been named dis trict sales manager for Boston. Barry N. Mit chell, with Piedmont since 1969, has moved from manager-customer service in Charlotte to station manager for Denver. Former Atlanta Sales Manager John Lasater has been promoted to the city sales manager’s position in Denver. TOPS winner chosen The TOPS (Total Outstanding Passenger Service) winner for September/October was Roanoke-based Flight Attendant Marianne Moore. She has been flying Piedmont’s skies since May, 1974. Recent passengers who’ve commended Mari anne said she is “charming, courteous and at tentive,” and that she “makes flying Piedmont a pleasure.” As the TOPS winner, she will receive five shares of Piedmont stock and the award plaque. The TOPS selection committee also noted an honorable mention for the September/October period for Fayetteville’s Roger Davis. Piedmont serves half of top 12 By year-end 1978, Piedmont will be serving half, or six of the 12 highest-boarding airports in the U. S. We’re operating from Chicago’s O’Hare, number one; Atlanta, number two; New York’s LaGuardia, number six; as of De cember 15, Denver, number 7; Washington’s National, number nine; and Miami, number 12. Name the program All airline division employees recently received a letter from President Davis concern ing plans to improve our level of customer ser vice. To kick off the program, the committee has asked for suggestions and program name ideas. The employee who submits the chosen name will w'in an all-expense-paid weekend at The Greenbrier and round-trip, positive transporta tion. All name ideas should be sent to Sheri Folger, INT-A320, by January 15, 1979. The committee welcomes suggestions for the pro gram at any time. As Davis said in his letter, “The overall success of this program depends, in large part, on each and every one of us.” An appropriate name for a needed program is a good place to start. The committee is wait ing to hear from you. This class of 15 com pleted training in September. It was taste 'n tell when Massport (the Massachusetts Port Authority) and Swissair representatives visited the Central Res Office on November 29 to promote their support of Piedmont's new Boston service. Sporting tell ing T-shirts and tasting the specially delivered Boston clam chowder were, from left, Gilda Lynch, Tony Steel- man, Faye Sweet, Tina Baity and Jackie Truell. Candy Daughtridge, Kathy Joines, Terri Anderson, Tracey Dow, Tami McKeithan, Crystal Garner and Susan Cranford. With these 14 new names the flight attendant seniority list totals 432. The Airline Sales Managers Association of New York recently elected new officers. Piedmont's Vince Dieringer, standing at right, joined North Central's Ed O'Connor and Armando Romillo of Mexicana, seated, and Jim Greene of Thai International and Eastern's Tom Gilroy as an officer of the association for 1978-79.
