DeVault, III, of Atlanta, Ga, Miss Kay Jenkins will be one of Miss Sheppard* s bridesmaids. Both Miss Sheppard and Miss Jenkins have spent the past several summers in Highlands. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lane and daugh ter, Louise, of Camden, Ala., are visit ing Mrs. Lane’s parents, Mr, and Mrs, Bob DuPree, for several days, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith and grand sons, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla,, are spend ing some time at their home in Horse Gove, Mr, and Mrs, George W, Johnson and daughters, Janet and Sara Ann, of Mullins, S, C., were the guests of Mrs. Ann Murphy last week. Visiting Mr, and Mrs, John Edwards are Mr, and Mrs, Bennie Archibold and daughter, Sherrile, of Noblesville, Ind. Master Tommy Rejniolds returned to Waynesboro, Ga., Tuesday after spending several days with his grandparents, Mr, and Mrs, Joe Reynolds, at their home here, Recent guests of Mr, and Mrs, H, H, Hector were Mrs, Hector*s son and his family, Mr, and Mrs, Jerry D, Lalor and children, Kathleen, Barbara, and Jerry, Jr, (Butch), of Miami, Fla, Dr, and Mrs, C, J, Derrick returned to West Palm Beach, Fla,, Tuesday, They plan to return to Highlands in October to spend several weeks at their home here. He finally finds his atonement by retiring to a small and remote country where he courageously leads the natives in rebellion against a villainous ’’general" who has enslaved them and forces them to work a tin mine. It is in this obscure land that Lord Jim, played by Peter 0*Toole, finds peace and a whole new life, settling down with a native girl, played by Daliah Lavi, only to be robbed of it all ironically when, in giving a second chance to another white man who betrays him. Lord Jim inadvertent ly causes the death of the son of the na tive chieftain.
