HAG ON COUNTY VOTERS OK BONDS
FOR COURTHOUSE
A $1 million courthouse bond refer
endum found acceptance in Ifecon County
Tuesday^ as voters approved the measure
by 1^80§ to 911* Highlands voters de
feated the measure 237 to h$ with 30
per cent of the voters voting#
The action paves the way for the
eventual replacement of the present
century-old structure.
County commission chairman Oscar
Ledford said, "the board of commissioners
appreciates the enthusiasm and turn out
in this important vote. This certainly
does assure the people of Macon County
a modern courthouse in due time."
Ledford said that not all of the
$980,000 worth of bonds will be sold
unless the money is needed.

13th, at King’s Inn. Dinner will be
