DRY SPELL HITS HIGHLANDS
California isn*t the only state that
has "most unusual weather" - Highlanders
have almost never known such a dry spell
as they are presently experiencing.
The total rainfall for the first 6
months of 1970 in Highlands was 30.ii7
inches and the normal is U3-85- Highlands
is therefore 13*38 below normal. During
1969 the total rainfall for the first
6 months was U5«93 which gave the area a
total of 2.08 inches above normal. So,
if you think it has just been your im
agination, these figures from Magistrate
Ted Crunkleton*s office prove it has truly
been a most unusual season - so far.
