SGA Serves Student Needs
By Cathy Walston
SGA stands for Student
Government Association, and
its purpose at Atlantic Christian
is one of utmost importance.
SGA is an organization created
by the students at ACC to
be their voice on campus.
Providing budget organizations
and entertainment for students
also keeps SGA extremely busy.
SGA has four officers who are
assigned a great many tasks.
They are Bobby Edwards,
president: Tammy Boyd, vice
president: Kay Ellis, secretary;
and Stephen Dentzer, treasurer.
They are elected by the student
body and are paid a salary of
$500 a year.
The Senate meeings are held
twice a month and they are open
to the student body. Legislation
procedures and budget organi
zations are the main topics for
discussion in the meetings.
One of the main problems
SGA has had to face is the lack
of student involvement. Bobby
Edwards, SGA president, feels
students should become inter
ested and involved with their
SGA organization. Decisions
pertaining to student wants and
needs are discussed at Senate
meetings and may be beneficial
to each student’s future at
Atlantic Christian. So, let’s all
pull together and help SGA;
they want our support and
guidance. It may be your future
at Atlantic Christian they are
talking about.
SGA is located in the base
ment of Hardy Alumni Hall
across from the Collegiate.
