Jesse Snyder is shown with a llVi inch rainbow that he recently caught in Fontana Lake. Estus "Red” Thomas is shown with the rainbow trout that he caught in the French Broad River recently. The fish was 19% inches long and weighed 3 pounds and two ounces. J. L. Bryson of the Refining Department was fishing recently where the Mills River flows into the French Broad, when he hooked some thing that was almost too much for him to handle. After 20 minutes and with the assistance of J. B. Stewart he landed the large "Jack” shown above. This fish weighed 23^2 pounds and was 44 inches long. It was one of the largest fish ever caught in this area. The fish was hooked on the outside of the face with a No. 6 Eagle Claw hook. A five-inch hornyhead minnow was used for bait on a 20 pound casting line.
